Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has said the partnership between Margalla Hospital and Indus Hospital will serve as a model of exceptional public service and transparency. Chairing a meeting on preparations for the inauguration, he said the facility has been formally handed over to the Indus Hospital and Health Network.
Free care and modern equipment for the capital
Kamal said the collaboration reflects committed public service and openness. The 167-bed Islamabad hospital is to be fitted with modern facilities, offering the public free medical treatment, surgeries and advanced diagnostic services.
Epidemic Diseases Hospital returns to service
Referring to the Epidemic Diseases Hospital, Kamal said it “remained non-functional for a long time” but “is now being made operational.” He added that the Prime Minister of Pakistan will formally inaugurate Margalla Hospital this week.
The minister also said practical steps are being taken to improve quality medical facilities. He expects the hospital to ease the patient load on other major Islamabad hospitals, giving residents of the capital and nearby areas access to free, high-quality healthcare.
