In a significant development for Pakistani science, Dr. Nousheen Zaidi has become the first citizen from Pakistan to be honored with Germany’s esteemed Georg Forster Research Award. This accolade recognizes her outstanding contributions to biochemistry, cancer research, and public health, marking a milestone in international scientific collaboration.

Dr. Zaidi is a distinguished professor at the University of the Punjab in Lahore, where she spearheads various research projects focused on cancer-related studies. Her academic journey includes earning a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Tübingen in Germany, a country where she has also held positions as a visiting and affiliated researcher. Additionally, she has conducted research in the United States, further enhancing her global scientific footprint.

Her research portfolio is extensive, covering critical areas such as cancer cell metabolism, lipid and energy dynamics within cancer cells, as well as environmental health issues like water quality. Beyond laboratory work, Dr. Zaidi is actively involved in raising public health awareness across Pakistan, bridging the gap between scientific research and community well-being.
