Gold Prices Drop by Rs3,000 in Pakistan After Previous Day’s Surge

Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a notable decline on Thursday, with the cost of one tola dropping by Rs3,000. This decrease came just a day after the precious metal had surged by Rs4,300, highlighting the ongoing fluctuations in the local gold market. The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association reported that the price of one tola fell to Rs438,636 from Rs441,636 recorded on Wednesday.

Similarly, the price of 10 grammes of gold also saw a reduction, falling by Rs2,572 to reach Rs376,059. This movement follows a pattern of volatility that has characterized the gold market in recent days. On Wednesday, gold prices had rebounded sharply after three consecutive sessions of decline, marking a temporary recovery in an otherwise unstable trend.

To provide some context, gold prices had dropped by Rs2,100 on Saturday, September 26, followed by a steep fall of Rs12,800 on Monday and a further Rs800 decrease on Tuesday. The sudden rise on Wednesday was therefore a significant reversal, but Thursday’s decline indicates that the market remains unsettled.

The fluctuations in gold prices are largely driven by changes in international bullion rates and currency exchange movements, which continue to impact the domestic market. For consumers and investors, Thursday’s price drop offers some respite after the previous day’s sharp increase, though the overall trend suggests that gold prices in Pakistan will continue to be influenced by both global and local economic factors.
