OGRA Increases Kerosene Price by Rs8.70 Per Litre Amid Petrol Price Cut

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of kerosene oil by Rs8.70 per litre. The revised kerosene price is now set at Rs280.70 per litre, up from the previous rate of Rs272 per litre. This adjustment takes effect immediately as part of the latest update on petroleum product prices.

Meanwhile, the federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre. The new petrol price has been lowered from Rs381.78 to Rs377.78 per litre, effective from midnight nationwide. However, the price of high-speed diesel remains unchanged at Rs380.78 per litre.

These new rates will stay in effect until the next fortnightly review. Fuel prices have experienced frequent fluctuations recently due to instability in global oil markets, influenced by geopolitical tensions and uncertainties surrounding key shipping routes.

The petrol price reduction is expected to offer some relief to consumers who are grappling with rising transportation and living expenses. At the same time, the kerosene price hike reflects ongoing adjustments in response to market conditions.
