The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that remittances to the country totaled $3.8 billion in March 2026. This marked a 16.5% rise compared to the previous month, although it represented a 5.5% decrease compared to March 2025.

Over the first nine months of the current fiscal year (July 2025 to March 2026), workers’ remittances increased by 8.2%, reaching $30.3 billion, up from $28.0 billion during the same period last year. The majority of these inflows in March originated from Saudi Arabia, which contributed $918.4 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $823.7 million.

Notably, Pakistanis residing in the United Kingdom sent $587.3 million, while those in the United States remitted $359.3 million during the month. Earlier data revealed that in February 2026, the UAE was the largest source of remittances, with $696.24 million sent to Pakistan. Saudi Arabia was a close second, contributing $685.50 million.

In total, Pakistan received $3.29 billion in remittances in February 2026, reflecting a 5.2% increase year-on-year. This followed a slight month-on-month dip from $3.46 billion in January 2026, but indicated a steady upward trend annually. During the first eight months of the fiscal year, remittances reached $26.49 billion, marking a 10.5% growth compared to the same timeframe last year.

Other significant contributors in February included the United Kingdom, which sent $532.03 million, and the United States, which remitted $319.46 million. Remittances from overseas Pakistanis continue to be a crucial source of foreign exchange, supporting household incomes and bolstering the country’s economic stability.
