Katie Price, the English media personality and model, has been issued her seventh driving ban following a speeding incident on the A64 in North Yorkshire. The case involves a Ford Capri registered in her name, which was recorded traveling at 80mph near Stutton, exceeding the speed limit.
North Yorkshire Police contacted Price to confirm if she was driving the vehicle, sending multiple letters to her West Sussex address. Despite these efforts, she did not respond, leading the case to proceed under a Single Justice Procedure, a system that deals with cases privately without a court hearing.
Although the speeding charge was dropped, Price was convicted for failing to identify the driver, resulting in a six-month driving ban along with fines and legal costs totaling over £1,000. This latest conviction adds to a lengthy record of driving offences that have plagued Price for over a decade.
Since 2010, Price has faced numerous disqualifications for various offences including speeding, driving while banned, drink-driving, and failing to provide driver details. At one point, a judge described her driving record as among the worst they had encountered.
In a significant development in 2021, Price received a suspended prison sentence after crashing her car while disqualified and under the influence. That incident led to a two-year driving ban, community service, and rehabilitation orders. Despite these penalties, her driving offences have persisted.
Overall, Price has spent more than six years off the road due to disqualifications. While the latest ban may appear minor in isolation, it underscores a persistent pattern of legal troubles related to driving.
Beyond her driving issues, Price is also contending with ongoing financial and legal challenges, including bankruptcy proceedings and court-ordered repayment plans, which continue to impact her public and personal life.
