Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan for an official two-day visit, responding to an invitation from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The visit aims to reinforce the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
During his stay, Al Zayani and DPM Dar will co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC). The meeting will encompass a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and explore opportunities to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, economic collaboration, defence and security, labour and manpower, as well as cultural exchanges.
Both foreign ministers will also discuss regional and international developments of mutual concern and deliberate on cooperation within multilateral forums. The two nations share close and brotherly ties rooted in common faith, values, mutual respect, and deep people-to-people connections, supported by regular high-level interactions and broad-ranging cooperation.
The Foreign Office highlighted that this visit underscores the strong momentum in Pakistan-Bahrain relations and the mutual commitment to deepen collaboration and promote beneficial ties. This diplomatic engagement follows recent military interactions, including a visit by the commander of the Bahrain National Guard to Pakistan in June, where he met with the tri-services chiefs.
During those meetings, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa emphasized Bahrain’s armed forces’ role in fostering regional peace and stability and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in training and capacity-building initiatives with Pakistan.
