Pakistan’s passport has been identified as the fourth weakest globally, positioned 101st on the latest Henley Passport Index. This ranking reflects visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to just 29 countries and territories.

The Henley Passport Index, compiled by a UK-based citizenship and residence advisory firm, evaluates 199 passports against 227 travel destinations. The ranking is determined by the number of locations accessible without a prior visa or with a visa granted upon arrival.

On this index, Pakistan’s green passport ranks only above Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. In comparison, neighboring countries China, India, and Iran hold higher positions at 60th, 81st, and 96th respectively.

Holders of the Pakistani passport enjoy visa-free entry to destinations including Barbados, Cook Islands, Dominica, Haiti, Micronesia, Montserrat, Rwanda, St Vincent and the Grenadines, The Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu. Additionally, visa-on-arrival is available in countries such as Burundi, Cambodia, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Maldives, Mozambique, Nepal, Niue, Palau Islands, Samoa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Timor-Leste, and Tuvalu.

Furthermore, Pakistani citizens can obtain electronic travel authorizations for Kenya, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka, expanding their travel options slightly.

In a significant development, Singapore continues to top the list with a score of 192, followed by Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates tied for second place at 188. Sweden holds the third position with a score of 187.
