The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 12 is set to take place from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises confirmed to participate, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday. The tournament window was finalized after consultations with key stakeholders during the HBL PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1, attended by owners and representatives of all eight teams.
This upcoming 12th edition will build on the success of the landmark 2026 season, which saw the league expand to eight teams and replace the draft system with a player auction. The 2026 final, held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, drew a record crowd of 32,461 spectators. Peshawar Zalmi emerged as champions by defeating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets on May 3, ending a nine-year title drought.
With the tournament dates confirmed, the league is now preparing for several important milestones, including direct player signings, retentions, the trade window, and the player auction. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the previous season’s achievements, emphasizing the league’s growing potential and expressing confidence that the next edition will elevate the competition further.
“HBL PSL 11 showcased the league’s ability to captivate the nation with thrilling moments, record-breaking attendance, and extensive broadcasts. HBL PSL 12 aims to raise the standard even higher,” Naqvi stated. He reaffirmed the PCB’s commitment to delivering another exceptional season and anticipated strong competition among all eight franchises.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer noted that the league intends to build on the momentum generated by the 2026 season. “Last season redefined expectations for this league, and we are determined to meet them all in 2027,” he said. Naseer added that announcing the tournament window is just the beginning, with upcoming activities like direct signings, retentions, the trade window, and the auction expected to heighten excitement in the months ahead.
“Eight teams, each eager to improve on their previous performances, and millions of fans across Pakistan and worldwide are already counting down the days,” Naseer remarked. The PCB confirmed that full details regarding the schedule, venues, player auction, and ticketing will be released in due course.
