Organisers of the Aichi-Nagoya Games issued an apology on Monday following a travel confusion that led the Pakistan volleyball team to arrive at an incorrect location ahead of their Pool A match against Uzbekistan. This error forced a delay in the match to resolve the situation.
Pakistan captain Murad Jehan shared a video on Instagram highlighting what he described as “another mismanagement” after the team mistakenly reached the wrong venue. Meanwhile, a Games spokesperson revealed that the South Korean men’s team also missed their practice session due to a similar issue, as both teams boarded buses heading to incorrect destinations.
The spokesperson explained that Pakistan was originally scheduled to travel to Okazaki for their match, but their bus mistakenly went to Inuyama, the site of the practice venue. Once the route was corrected and the team arrived at Okazaki, the match was rescheduled to start later than planned. Although the delay caused inconvenience, the organisers adjusted the competition timetable to ensure the match proceeded smoothly.
Despite the disruption, Pakistan overcame the setback and secured their second consecutive victory with a 3-0 win over Uzbekistan. This incident follows earlier apologies from the organisers regarding transportation and logistical challenges that have affected the Games.
