The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a stern warning on Tuesday to both current and former cricketers regarding their involvement in the Asian Legends League scheduled in Zambia. The PCB emphasized that this tournament lacks approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
In a significant development, the ICC has classified the Asian Legends League as an unauthorised event. Consequently, players participating without prior consent from the PCB will be violating established regulations. The board clarified that any cricketer who joins the league without securing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB will face a suspension lasting two years.
Moreover, the PCB cautioned that any player found contravening these rules will be prohibited from holding any official role within the PCB or the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for a period of two years. This measure applies equally to both current and former players.
The domestic cricket authority reiterated the necessity for all Pakistani cricketers, past and present, to obtain an NOC from the PCB before participating in any overseas cricket leagues or events. This policy underscores the board’s commitment to upholding ICC regulations and safeguarding the sport’s integrity.
Notably, the PCB stressed that players must always seek clearance from their home board prior to engaging in any international tournaments, reinforcing the importance of compliance with global cricket governance.
