Barcelona Triumphs 4-0 Over Lyon to Secure Fourth Women’s Champions League Title

Barcelona delivered a commanding 4-0 win against French club Olympique Lyonnais Féminin in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final held on Saturday in Oslo, securing their fourth European title with a dominant second-half performance.

The first half was tightly contested, with Lyon having a goal disallowed for offside, but Barcelona took full control after the break through an incisive attacking display spearheaded by forwards Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute when midfielder Patri Guijarro regained possession deep in Barcelona’s half and quickly launched a counterattack. She found Pajor on the right wing, and the Polish striker expertly finished from a narrow angle to give the Spanish champions the lead.

Pajor extended the lead 14 minutes later after Lyon’s defense failed to mark her run inside the penalty area. Unmarked, she converted a low cross from Esmee Brugts with a close-range strike, securing her second goal of the match.

This second goal deflated Lyon’s momentum, allowing Barcelona to control the remainder of the game. Paralluelo then enhanced the scoreline with a spectacular long-range effort in the 90th minute, before sprinting through Lyon’s defense to score again during stoppage time.

The emphatic victory not only awarded Barcelona their fourth Women’s Champions League trophy but also reinforced their rising dominance in European women’s football.
