PTI spokesman Shaukat Yousafzai said on Saturday that talk of an emergency and a separate administrative setup for 12 districts amounted to a serious breach of the 18th Amendment. In a video statement, he addressed Bilawal directly, saying that raising voice for legitimate rights is not extremism.
Yousafzai said the PTI was not an obstacle to anti-terrorism operations, but insisted that all stakeholders be taken into confidence. He added that proclaiming an emergency or governor’s rule would not solve the country’s problems.
Calls for dialogue and political stability
He said the country needed political stability and urged the government to drop rigidity and ego, resolving issues through dialogue. “Use of force against political parties will not bring political stability in country,” he said.
Protest march planned toward Swabi
Yousafzai said people were heading to the roads despite what he called the government’s fascism. He claimed hundreds of thousands of people would reach Swabi tomorrow, overcoming all obstacles.
