Kasim Khan, son of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, has cautioned the public against gathering or protesting near Adiala Jail. He warned that such actions could jeopardize his father’s safety. In a message shared on X, Kasim revealed he was instructed to advise people not to march or demonstrate close to the jail on March 27, the date set for PTI’s mobilisation.
He further disclosed that he received information suggesting authorities might use the protest as a pretext to launch a “counter” operation on the jail where Imran Khan is currently detained. Kasim emphasized that such a move could place his father’s life in serious danger.
Appealing to supporters, he urged them not to give any cause that might lead to incidents threatening Imran Khan’s well-being during the demonstration. “Please do not give them any reasons for ‘accidents’ to happen to my father during the protest,” he stated.
This warning comes as the PTI has announced a long march towards Islamabad demanding Imran Khan’s release and addressing other political demands. In response, the Punjab government has enforced Section 144 throughout the province, and Rangers have been deployed in Islamabad and multiple Punjab cities. Additionally, several PTI leaders, workers, and Imran Khan’s three sisters have been detained ahead of the planned mobilisation.
Kasim Khan has previously voiced concerns about his father’s health in interviews with international media, while the government insists that Imran Khan is receiving proper medical care and regular health check-ups during his detention.
