Islamabad Lifts Transport Restrictions, Resumes Normal City Operations

The district administration of Islamabad has officially lifted the restrictions on all forms of transportation within the capital city. This move permits both public transport and goods vehicles to freely enter and operate throughout Islamabad, marking a significant step towards normalizing daily activities.

Following the announcement, all major bus terminals across the city have resumed operations, with the notable exception of the Faizabad bus terminal, which remains closed until further notice. This partial reopening reflects a cautious approach to fully restoring transport services while ensuring public safety and order.

The decision to ease transport limitations was driven by the administration’s aim to facilitate citizens and alleviate the commuting difficulties that had been affecting daily life. By reinstating travel convenience, the authorities hope to support the smooth functioning of the federal capital’s economy and social activities.

In a significant development, the relaxation of transport restrictions coincided with the departure of Iranian officials who had been in Islamabad for Phase-II of talks with US representatives. Their exit on Saturday evening appears to have paved the way for the city’s return to routine operations, signaling a positive shift in the local environment following the diplomatic engagement.
