In a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a brutal crime, law enforcement officials arrested the prime suspect involved in the abduction, rape, and subsequent murder of a nomadic woman in Jamshoro. The arrest took place on Monday during a targeted police operation near the Thermal Power House area, where the suspect, Mashooq Khoso, was found injured and subsequently taken into custody. This development marks a crucial step forward in a case that has deeply shocked the local community.

The police operation was carried out by a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspectors Asghar Ali Bhacho and Hasnain Mehr, who conducted a raid in a remote hilly region believed to be a hideout for the suspect and his accomplices. The team was acting on intelligence that linked Khoso directly to the heinous crime involving Sabreen Pathan, a nomadic woman whose tragic story has drawn widespread attention. During the raid, the suspects reportedly resisted arrest and opened fire on the police, leading to a tense exchange of gunfire.

In the chaos that ensued, Khoso was accidentally shot by one of his own accomplices, which resulted in his injury and eventual capture by the police. Authorities also recovered a firearm from Khoso’s possession during the operation. Meanwhile, the other suspects managed to flee the scene, prompting ongoing search efforts as police intensify raids to track down and apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the case.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Zafar Siddique Chaanga described the arrest as a major advancement in the ongoing investigation. He emphasized the importance of bringing all those responsible to justice and reassured the public that law enforcement agencies are committed to ensuring accountability in this case. The police have already detained eight other suspects linked to the crime, highlighting the extensive network involved in this tragic incident.

Sabreen Pathan, the victim, was a resilient woman originally from Bannu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She supported her family by selling clothes door-to-door and was known for her dedication as a mother of four children. At the time of her abduction on February 1, she was pregnant, adding another layer of tragedy to the case. Her lifeless body was later discovered in a bushy area, prompting her husband to file a formal complaint that initiated the investigation.

This case has sparked outrage and sorrow across the region, highlighting ongoing concerns about the safety and protection of vulnerable communities, especially nomadic groups. The police continue to pursue all leads vigorously, aiming to bring the remaining suspects to justice and provide closure to the grieving family. The arrest of Mashooq Khoso is seen as a pivotal moment in this pursuit of justice, underscoring the determination of law enforcement to combat such violent crimes.
