Faisal Town Group has inaugurated Jamia Masjid Hazrat Ali (R.A.) at Faisal Hills in Islamabad on Friday, October 9, 2026. The developer says the mosque can accommodate more than 22,000 worshippers, making it the second-largest mosque in the Islamabad–Rawalpindi region after Faisal Mosque.
The mosque was formally opened ahead of Friday prayers. Chairman of Faisal Town Group, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, attended the ceremony and joined worshippers in special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, progress and prosperity.
Architecture and prayer facilities at the new mosque
The developer describes the building as a blend of traditional Islamic architecture and contemporary design. Its golden dome, gold-foil detailing and chandeliers are presented as examples of Islamic art and craftsmanship, while the interiors and spacious prayer halls are meant to create a calm and reflective atmosphere.
The mosque includes a dedicated prayer hall for women, which has a separate entrance to ensure privacy and easy access. Other facilities include parking for about 300 vehicles, ablution areas for 200 worshippers at a time and a designated space for funeral prayers.
Madrassa, library and community spaces in the complex
Beyond daily prayers, the mosque complex houses a madrassa, an Islamic library and dedicated community spaces. The developer says these features are meant to make the site a centre for religious education, spiritual learning and community engagement.
The mosque sits within Faisal Hills, a master-planned development by Faisal Town Group on Main GT Road near Taxila, at the foothills of the Margalla Hills. The site offers road links to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt and Attock.
Faisal Hills award and the developer’s wider role
Faisal Hills received the Best Master Plan Pakistan award at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2026–2027, which recognised its integrated approach to modern urban development. The developer said the project reflects its commitment to community infrastructure, sustainability and quality of life.
Under Chairman Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Faisal Town Group describes itself as one of Pakistan’s leading master developers, with residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. The company said the mosque is expected to become a religious and architectural landmark serving worshippers across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, Wah Cantt, Attock and nearby areas.
