Post-mortem examinations of a couple found dead in North Karachi have revealed severe head injuries, police said. The police surgeon identified the victims as Muhammad Yamin, aged 65 to 70, and his wife Nafis Akhtar, aged 60 to 65, who were discovered inside their home.
Both suffered deep, serious wounds to the head, and investigators suspect they were killed with a heavy, blunt object. Samples taken during the examinations will undergo chemical analysis to determine whether either victim was given poison or an intoxicating substance beforehand.
A murder case has been registered at Sir Syed police station on the complaint of Muhammad Anwar, Yamin’s brother.

Anwar told police that the couple had recently come back from Canada. After their return, Yamin asked his sister to move out and began renovating the property.
When the couple failed to answer their phone calls on the day, Anwar went to the house. He unlocked the door with a duplicate key and found both bodies lying in blood in the television lounge, after which he alerted the police.
Motive unknown as labourers remain untraced
Police said the motive for the killings is still unknown and no suspects have been identified. Investigators have not been able to locate the labourers who had been working at the property.
Officers are questioning workers in the area and other people considered suspicious as part of the inquiry.
