A Counter Terrorism Department operation in Barkhan district, Balochistan, has killed at least 10 militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, a CTD spokesperson said on Saturday. The raid took place in the Rarasham Valley under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, after the department obtained reliable intelligence that militants were present in the area, the spokesperson said.
Weapons recovered and two CTD personnel wounded
Officials said a considerable cache of arms and ammunition was seized from the dead fighters. The spokesperson added that two CTD personnel were also hurt during the raid.
The department stressed that police and CTD staff remain determined to rid Balochistan of terrorism, and it vowed to keep up counter-terrorism work in the province.
Five militants killed in Mastung’s Siyapast area
In a separate action on October 7, security forces killed five militants fighting Fitna al-Hindustan in the Siyapast and Killi Gashtari areas of Mastung district, security sources said. According to the sources, arms and ammunition were seized from those killed, and clearance and search operations began to find any remaining militants.
Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to keep counterterrorism operations going across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fight militancy and preserve order.
