A 22-year-old Azerbaijani woman has accused three men of sexually assaulting her in Lahore’s Defence area after forcing her to consume alcohol. She provided her statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before a judicial magistrate on Monday.
The woman, who had traveled to Pakistan for business, claimed she was gang-raped by the three men at a rented flat during the night between Friday and Saturday. Police have detained two suspects so far, while efforts continue to apprehend the third. Authorities are also searching for two mobile phones belonging to the victim, which remain missing.
In her statement, the woman detailed her journey, saying she flew from Istanbul to Islamabad on the 13th, stayed five days in Faisalabad, then traveled to Lahore planning to visit Skardu. Feeling unable to continue alone, she contacted two women, Nimra and Muskan, to meet up. Around 11pm, she went alone to a café where she met Muskan, who then informed her that Nimra was waiting. They later ate together around 2am when two men arrived in a vehicle, and Nimra invited them to join.
The woman alleged that Nimra accepted Rs20,000 to Rs30,000 from a man named Mohsin and offered the money to her, which she refused. Mohsin then took her to a separate room where three other men were present. When she inquired about Nimra and Muskan, she was told they had left. She asked to leave but was denied, being told her friends had taken money. She offered to pay Rs30,000 but was informed they had already received more.
her testimony, Ali Aziz warned her about their capabilities and tried to intimidate her by threatening to call the police emergency number 15. She challenged him to make the call, but no police arrived within five minutes. She again requested to be released.
The three men then offered her alcohol, stating they had ordered it and asked her to drink with them. She questioned if drinking would allow her to leave, to which they agreed. After consuming the alcohol, she was told to stay there until its effects wore off. She then alleged that Mohsin, Ahmed, and Ali Aziz sexually assaulted her.
Subsequently, the woman was taken in a vehicle. She had Rs200,000 in Pakistani currency and an iPhone with her at the time. The men warned her that her belongings would only be returned if she refrained from reporting the incident to the police. Later, she was pushed out of the vehicle without her possessions. She then sought help from bystanders and contacted law enforcement.
