Security forces eliminated four terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan during a targeted operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on Monday. The operation took place in the Aphan-e-Koh and Prom areas following intelligence about the presence of militants supported by India.
During the engagement, security personnel exchanged heavy fire with the militants, resulting in the deaths of four terrorists. Authorities recovered a significant cache of advanced weapons and ammunition from the deceased militants. Officials affirmed that operations will persist until every terrorist threat is neutralized.
This operation followed closely on the heels of another successful mission in which security forces prevented terrorists from disrupting civilian movement on the N-25 highway near Kalat. In that encounter, five militants were killed and 23 hostages were safely rescued. The terrorists had set up a checkpoint on the highway with the intent to abduct individuals, extort money, and seize vehicles.
Security forces responded swiftly, killing five militants and confiscating a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from their hideout. Additionally, six trucks, three buses, and two cars were recovered during the operation.
Since 2021, Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist activities, especially in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, coinciding with the Afghan Taliban’s rise to power. In a related incident a day earlier, security forces killed eight militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district, while six Pakistan Army personnel lost their lives during intense combat.
The clash in Hangu involved a security convoy and militants from Fitna al-Khawarij. The troops’ effective engagement resulted in the elimination of eight terrorists. Tragically, six security personnel, including Captain Abuzar Farooq and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, who led their troops courageously from the front, were martyred during the fierce exchange of fire.
