Scheduled Power Outages in Islamabad and Surrounding Areas on Saturday for Maintenance Work

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a series of planned power outages across various sectors of Islamabad and its adjoining regions on Saturday. These interruptions are part of ongoing maintenance and infrastructure development efforts aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the area. Residents and businesses in the affected zones are advised to prepare for temporary power cuts during the specified hours.

In the Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, electricity will be switched off between 6:00 am and 11:00 am, impacting the Dk. Farman Ali and Tipu Road feeders. This scheduled suspension is necessary to carry out essential upgrades and repairs to the power lines and transformers serving these localities. Meanwhile, in the Attock Circle, the power outage will extend from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, affecting several feeders including Fawara Chowk, Tanaza Dam, Gul Muhammad, Gagan, Laniwala, City-II, Sajjad Shaheed, and Nescom. These measures are expected to enhance the overall stability of the grid in these areas.

Further extending the maintenance work, power supply from feeders such as Khan Abad, Small Industrial Estate, Pour Miana, Lala Rukh, Gudwal-I, Gudwal-II, Garhi Afghan, Shahia, and Munir Abad will be suspended from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm. This longer outage period reflects the complexity of the tasks being undertaken to ensure long-term improvements in electricity distribution. The GSO Circle will also experience significant power interruptions, with the 132-KV Chakwal-Bhagwal-Talagang and 132KV Kahuta City-Palandri feeders being switched off from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Additionally, the 132KV T/L new Wah Bahter More and adjacent areas will face outages from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

IESCO has expressed regret for any inconvenience these necessary disruptions may cause to the public. The company has assured that power restoration will be expedited if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. Such proactive communication is part of IESCO’s ongoing commitment to transparency and customer service during infrastructure upgrades.

In a related development, IESCO has recently intensified its efforts to combat power theft, a persistent challenge that undermines the efficiency and financial health of the electricity supply system. The company successfully apprehended 5,929 individuals involved in illegal electricity connections and imposed fines amounting to Rs. 503.4 million. This crackdown was conducted in close cooperation with local law enforcement agencies, resulting in the arrest of 2,950 suspects. These actions demonstrate IESCO’s resolve to protect the integrity of the power network and ensure fair access for all consumers.
