Widespread Rainfall Expected Across Sindh Including Karachi by August 2

Weather specialists have predicted widespread rainfall across most regions of Sindh by August 2, driven by a developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal. This system has strengthened into a deep depression and is expected to weaken into a low-pressure area as it approaches Sindh around July 30.

Several parts of Sindh, including Hyderabad, are likely to experience heavy downpours during this period. Meteorologists emphasize that the intensity and effects of the rain will largely depend on the trajectory of the weather system.

In a significant development, Karachi’s rainfall levels will vary based on the system’s movement. If it shifts towards the Arabian Sea and remains there, the city could see substantial rainfall. Conversely, if the system moves northward into other parts of the country, Karachi may only receive light showers.

Meanwhile, experts have cautioned about another weather system anticipated to impact the country around August 6 to 8. This upcoming system is expected to be stronger and may also affect Sindh.

Recently, Karachi experienced rainfall on two consecutive days, July 24 and 25, as monsoon showers continued across parts of the country. On July 24, heavy rain fell over Shahrah-e-Faisal and nearby areas, with intense showers reported in Sohrab Goth. Other localities such as Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 6, North Nazimabad, and Gulshan-e-Maymar also witnessed rainfall, while light drizzle was observed around II Chundrigar Road and adjacent areas.

On July 25, light to moderate rain was recorded in parts of Karachi including Gulshan-e-Maymar and Gadap, continuing the monsoon activity in the port city.
