He disclosed that at least 133 Taliban operatives were killed and over 200 wounded during the offensive. The strikes targeted key Taliban defensive positions across several provinces, including Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar, with further casualties anticipated as the operation continues. Tarar highlighted that 27 Taliban posts were completely destroyed, while nine others were captured by Pakistani forces, demonstrating the operation’s tactical success.
Expanding on the military achievements, Tarar emphasized the role of the Pakistan Air Force, which played a pivotal part in dismantling Taliban infrastructure. his statement, air strikes obliterated two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, two ammunition depots, a logistics base, three battalion headquarters, and two sector headquarters. In addition, over 80 armored vehicles, including tanks, artillery guns, and armored personnel carriers, were destroyed. This comprehensive assault has significantly weakened the operational capabilities of the Afghan Taliban in the region.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the Afghan Taliban’s repeated targeting of civilian populations, describing these attacks as cowardly and unacceptable. He warned of grave repercussions for such acts, underscoring the Pakistani armed forces’ robust response to these provocations. Naqvi pointed out that the Taliban often launch their assaults under the cover of darkness, deliberately aiming at innocent civilians to spread fear and instability. Other prominent leaders joined the condemnation, including Federal Minister for Education and MQM Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who described the Afghan Taliban as acting on behalf of India against a fellow Muslim nation.
