President Zardari underscored that Pakistan is fully aware of the origins and supporters of the violence destabilizing the region. He made it clear that those responsible for perpetuating bloodshed will not evade accountability or remain beyond the reach of Pakistan’s security apparatus. Reflecting on the past five years, the president lamented the Taliban regime’s betrayal, noting that despite being Pakistan’s benefactor, it has supported terrorist activities through the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He expressed disappointment over the failure of diplomatic efforts, including those involving allied nations, to steer the Taliban away from violent extremism. The recent cross-border incursions by the Afghan Taliban, which directly challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty, mark a dangerous escalation that the government refuses to overlook.
In response to these provocations, Pakistan launched the ‘Ghazab Lil Haq’ military operation on the night of February 26, targeting multiple locations along the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.
