In a recent statement, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, brought attention to the ongoing presence of banned militant groups operating within Afghanistan. He emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering right to protect its sovereignty and maintain national security against any threats emanating from across the border. His remarks come amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier, where security forces have been actively responding to hostile actions.

Elaborating on the situation, Barrister Daniyal underscored Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from the region. He stressed that the country seeks lasting peace and stability not only within its own borders but throughout the neighboring areas as well. Highlighting Pakistan’s humanitarian role, he recalled the decades-long hospitality extended to millions of Afghan refugees, who were welcomed as guests during times of turmoil in Afghanistan. However, he made it clear that Pakistan will not tolerate the use of Afghan territory as a base for terrorist activities targeting its citizens.

In line with this stance, Barrister Daniyal pointed out that Pakistan has taken decisive military action against terrorist camps located in Afghanistan. These operations are part of a broader strategy to dismantle militant networks that threaten regional security. The Parliamentary Secretary’s comments reflect Islamabad’s broader policy of proactive defense and regional cooperation aimed at curbing extremism.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement addressing recent clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. It condemned what it described as an “unprovoked” attack by forces loyal to the Afghan Taliban regime. the ministry, Taliban fighters opened fire on multiple Pakistani border posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting a swift and robust response from Pakistan’s security forces. The ministry highlighted that these countermeasures were both immediate and effective, aimed at neutralizing the threat and safeguarding Pakistani territory.

The ministry further detailed that Pakistani forces engaged Taliban elements in several key sectors, including Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and Bajaur. These operations reportedly inflicted significant casualties on the Afghan side, with multiple enemy positions and equipment destroyed. The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to take all necessary steps to uphold its territorial integrity and ensure the safety of its citizens living near the volatile border regions.

These developments come at a time when the security dynamics along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border remain fragile. The ongoing presence of banned outfits in Afghanistan continues to pose challenges for both countries, complicating efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region. Pakistan’s firm response to recent provocations signals its determination to confront these challenges head-on, while also calling for responsible behavior from the Afghan Taliban regime to prevent further escalation.
