Khalid Maqbool Accuses Afghan Regime of Acting as India’s Proxy Against Pakistan

Chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has strongly criticized the current Afghan regime, accusing it of serving as a proxy for India in its hostile actions against Pakistan. He highlighted recent attacks carried out by the Afghan Taliban on Pakistan’s border regions, describing these assaults as a direct threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty and regional peace.

Dr. Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces stationed along the border are fully capable and prepared to respond decisively to any aggression. He reassured the nation that the valiant soldiers guarding the frontiers will not allow the country’s territorial integrity to be compromised under any circumstances. His remarks reflect growing concerns within Pakistan about cross-border security and the implications of Afghanistan’s evolving political landscape.

Adding further context, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary, the Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, also addressed the issue on Thursday. He pointed out that banned militant groups continue to operate within Afghanistan, posing a significant threat to Pakistan’s security. Barrister Chaudhary reiterated Pakistan’s sovereign right to protect itself against any form of aggression and underscored the country’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from the region.

He further reminded that Pakistan has long been a host to millions of Afghan refugees, treating them with hospitality and respect over several decades. However, he stressed that Pakistan cannot tolerate the use of Afghan territory as a base for terrorist activities targeting Pakistan. In this regard, he mentioned that Pakistan has conducted targeted operations against terrorist camps located across the border to neutralize threats and maintain regional stability.

These statements come amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where security forces have been on high alert due to repeated incursions and attacks. The situation underscores the complex geopolitical dynamics involving Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, with Pakistan accusing India of leveraging the Afghan Taliban as a proxy to destabilize the region. The Pakistani leadership continues to call for a peaceful resolution and urges the international community to support efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace and security in both countries.
