PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows Strong Response to Any Threats Against Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and national security. In a firm declaration, he emphasized that both the country’s armed forces and its citizens stand perpetually prepared to defend the nation against any form of aggression or threat. This statement comes amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, underscoring the government’s resolve to maintain peace and stability within its borders.

Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister highlighted the exceptional capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces in countering both internal and external challenges. He praised the military’s readiness, advanced training, and strategic expertise, which enable them to effectively neutralize threats that could jeopardize the country’s peace and territorial integrity. Under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), the armed forces continue to operate with professionalism and a strong sense of duty, ensuring that Pakistan’s security apparatus remains robust and vigilant at all times.

Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that any hostile action directed towards Pakistan would be met with a swift and decisive response. While the country has consistently advocated for peaceful coexistence and diplomatic resolution of conflicts, it remains steadfast in its determination to protect its borders and national interests. The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect a broader message of unity, as he underscored that the entire nation stands firmly behind the military in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.

The backdrop to these statements includes recent cross-border hostilities involving the Afghan Taliban forces. On the night of Friday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, unprovoked firing was reported from multiple locations along the border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). This escalation prompted Pakistan to launch a retaliatory operation named ‘Ghazab Lil Haq,’ targeting the Afghan Taliban regime to neutralize the threat and restore calm in the region.

This latest development has intensified security concerns in the border areas, which have historically been sensitive due to the complex geopolitical dynamics between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The government’s response highlights its commitment to protecting its citizens and maintaining regional stability despite ongoing challenges. Moving forward, the Prime Minister’s firm stance signals that Pakistan will continue to prioritize national security while seeking peaceful solutions to border disputes.
