Pakistan Condemns India’s Terrorism Allegations and Israel’s West Bank Land Policy

Pakistan strongly rejected India’s accusations of involvement in terrorism within Indian territory, accusing New Delhi of orchestrating a campaign of anti-Pakistan propaganda aimed at tarnishing its image internationally. The Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that these allegations are baseless and part of a broader strategy to divert attention from India’s own internal challenges. Meanwhile, Pakistan also voiced serious concerns over recent Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, warning that such unilateral actions threaten the fragile stability of the region and undermine prospects for peace.

During the weekly media briefing, the Foreign Office spokesperson, Tahir Hussain Andrabi, highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent diplomatic visit to Doha. Invited by the Emir of Qatar, the Prime Minister engaged in high-level talks focused on strengthening bilateral ties. Both countries agreed to expand cooperation across various sectors, including economic collaboration, defense partnerships, and regional security issues. Particular attention was given to the evolving situation in Afghanistan, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to fostering peace and stability in the war-torn country.

In parallel diplomatic developments, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar departed for Saudi Arabia to represent Pakistan at an extraordinary meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s Executive Committee. This gathering is convened to address the escalating tensions caused by Israel’s controversial decision to designate parts of the West Bank as state land. Pakistan reiterated its firm condemnation of this move, labeling it a blatant violation of international law and a dangerous precedent that could further destabilize the region.

The spokesperson also commemorated the 19th anniversary of the tragic Samjhauta Express bombing, which claimed the lives of over 70 innocent passengers. Andrabi criticized the Indian government’s perceived indifference and outrageously noted the recent release of four individuals convicted in connection with the attack. He called for renewed efforts to ensure that all perpetrators face justice, underscoring the importance of accountability in combating terrorism and fostering regional trust.

Turning to the situation in Afghanistan, the spokesperson clarified Pakistan’s stance, emphasizing that its military and security operations target terrorist elements rather than the Afghan population. Pakistan has submitted documented evidence of terrorist activities to the United Nations Security Council, demonstrating its commitment to international cooperation in counterterrorism. While welcoming Qatar’s mediation efforts aimed at reconciliation between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Andrabi expressed regret over hostile rhetoric emanating from Kabul, which he described as unhelpful and provocative. He reassured that Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies remain vigilant and fully prepared to respond to any threats to national security.

Finally, the spokesperson addressed concerns about growing defense ties between India and Israel, highlighting Pakistan’s awareness of this cooperation and its readiness to counter any threats that may arise from such alliances. He also referenced the recent protests in Israel coinciding with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, noting that it is heartening to witness dissenting voices within Israel that challenge government policies. This, he suggested, reflects a broader desire among some segments of society for justice and peace in the region.
