Invited by the Emir of Qatar, the Prime Minister engaged in high-level talks focused on strengthening bilateral ties. Both countries agreed to expand cooperation across various sectors, including economic collaboration, defense partnerships, and regional security issues. Particular attention was given to the evolving situation in Afghanistan, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to fostering peace and stability in the war-torn country.
In parallel diplomatic developments, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar departed for Saudi Arabia to represent Pakistan at an extraordinary meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s Executive Committee. This gathering is convened to address the escalating tensions caused by Israel’s controversial decision to designate parts of the West Bank as state land. Pakistan reiterated its firm condemnation of this move, labeling it a blatant violation of international law and a dangerous precedent that could further destabilize the region.
The spokesperson also commemorated the 19th anniversary of the tragic Samjhauta Express bombing, which claimed the lives of over 70 innocent passengers. Andrabi criticized the Indian government’s perceived indifference and outrageously noted the recent release of four individuals convicted in connection with the attack. He called for renewed efforts to ensure that all perpetrators face justice, underscoring the importance of accountability in combating terrorism and fostering regional trust.
