Intelligence-Led Operation in Zhob Eliminates 10 Militants Linked to Indian Proxy Group

In a significant development in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism, security forces successfully killed 10 militants affiliated with an Indian-backed proxy group during a meticulously planned intelligence-based operation in the Zhob district of Balochistan. The military’s media wing confirmed the operation on Thursday, highlighting the continued efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating within the region.

The operation was carried out after extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering that tracked the militants as they moved through multiple routes in the mountainous terrain of Zhob. This strategic approach allowed security forces to intercept the militants effectively, preventing potential attacks and disrupting their plans. The recovered cache included a substantial amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, underscoring the militants’ readiness to carry out violent acts in the area.

Officials emphasized that the militants killed in the operation were involved in numerous terrorist activities that had destabilized the region over recent months. The clearance operation remains ongoing, with security personnel continuing to sweep the area to ensure no threats remain. This action forms part of Pakistan’s broader and relentless campaign against terrorism, which remains a top priority for the country’s defense and intelligence agencies.

This latest counterterrorism success comes amid a surge in militant violence across Pakistan in February. Earlier this month, a devastating suicide vehicle bombing followed by an armed assault in Bajaur district resulted in the deaths of at least 11 security personnel and a child, while 12 attackers were also killed. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for that brutal attack, which highlighted the persistent threat posed by militant groups in the region.

Additionally, the capital city Islamabad witnessed one of its deadliest attacks in recent years when a suicide bombing targeted a mosque on February 6, killing more than 35 worshippers and injuring many others. These incidents have placed immense pressure on Pakistan’s security forces and have further strained relations with neighboring Afghanistan. Islamabad has repeatedly accused Kabul of harboring militant sanctuaries, allegations that Afghan authorities continue to deny.

As Pakistan intensifies its security operations in volatile areas like Zhob, the government remains committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety of its citizens. The success of this intelligence-driven operation not only disrupts militant networks but also sends a clear message about the country’s resolve to confront and eliminate extremist threats wherever they emerge.
