Matric Exams in Rawalpindi Postponed for April 10 Amid Diplomatic Events

Matriculation examinations set for April 10 in Rawalpindi have been postponed citywide following directives from Commissioner and Board Chairman Engineer Aamir Khattak. This suspension affects all 64 examination centers within Rawalpindi city limits, specifically impacting the Compulsory Urdu and Pakistan Geography papers.

Meanwhile, exams in other districts of the Rawalpindi Division will proceed the original timetable. Officials have confirmed that revised dates for the postponed papers will be communicated in due course.

In a significant development, this decision follows the Islamabad administration’s announcement of a two-day public holiday on Thursday and Friday. The holiday was declared in anticipation of high-level talks between the United States and Iran scheduled to take place in the federal capital.

The Office of the District Magistrate issued a notification designating these days as local holidays within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory. While the holiday affects general administrative and educational operations, essential services such as hospitals will remain fully functional.

Citizens have been advised to adjust their plans accordingly in light of these temporary changes. The collaboration between educational authorities and local administration highlights the effort to balance the smooth conduct of important international diplomatic engagements with the academic schedule.
