Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan sustained a left knee injury after slipping and falling during the filming of the popular Indian quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. The 83-year-old actor disclosed the incident at the start of the latest episode, informing viewers that the mishap occurred during the previous day’s shoot.
Typically delivering the show’s opening monologue while standing, Bachchan opted to present this segment seated due to his discomfort. He explained that standing was difficult, and sitting felt more manageable during the introduction. Nevertheless, he assured the audience that the injury was not severe.
In a significant development, Bachchan stated he would still stand while interacting with contestants and hosting the rest of the show despite the pain. Meanwhile, the studio audience showed concern for his wellbeing and wished him a swift recovery.
Bachchan has been the face of Kaun Banega Crorepati since its inception on July 3, 2000. Over more than two decades, the quiz show has become one of India’s most beloved television programs, largely due to his distinctive hosting style.
Despite the setback, the veteran actor continued filming the latest episode, engaging actively with participants throughout the recording. His commitment to the show remains unwavering even amid physical challenges.
