Michael J. Fox’s representative swiftly dismissed false reports of the actor’s death following the release of a tribute video that mistakenly suggested he had passed away. On April 8, during an interview with TMZ, it was confirmed that Fox was in good health, having appeared at PaleyFest the previous day. He was seen on stage and participated in interviews, dispelling any rumors about his condition.
Earlier, a major news outlet published a video titled “Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox,” which was quickly removed after the error was realized. The network issued an apology, stating the tribute package was published by mistake and expressing regret to Fox and his family.
At 64 years old, Fox has remained visible in the public eye, attending the season three finale screening of the show Shrinking at PaleyFest in Los Angeles on April 7. His presence at the event confirmed his well-being despite the erroneous reports.
Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, Fox has been candid about his ongoing battle with the illness. In an October interview with PEOPLE, he described his mindset toward living with the condition: “You take the good, and you seize it. I wake up and get the message of what the day is gonna be like, and I try to adjust to it.” He also shared the physical challenges he faces, mentioning, “I keep getting new challenges physically, and I get through it. I roll around in a wheelchair a lot, and it took some getting used to.”
Fox is married to Tracy Pollan, 65, and together they have four children.
