Gold rates in Pakistan slipped on Monday, halting a three-day run of gains. The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) put the price of a tola at Rs439,936, down Rs2,100 from the previous level.
Local gold and silver rates on Monday
The association said the 10-gram price declined by Rs1,800 to Rs377,174. Silver also eased, losing Rs23 per tola to reach Rs6,532.
Before Monday’s drop, gold had climbed Rs7,600 per tola over the three business days leading up to it.
Global bullion slide and currency factors
The local decline followed a fall in international bullion rates, where gold dropped $21 to $4,174 an ounce, according to the association’s figures. Domestic prices are shaped by global bullion trends, the rupee-dollar exchange rate and local market conditions.
Gold is generally regarded as a safe haven in times of economic and geopolitical unease, though its price can also fall when global conditions and investor expectations shift.
