The federal government has announced a significant reduction in fuel prices, bringing relief to consumers amid fluctuating global oil markets. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a formal notification confirming the decrease in prices for petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD).
Specifically, the price of petrol has been lowered by Rs2.27 per litre, while the cost of HSD has seen a more substantial cut of Rs3.56 per litre. This adjustment reflects ongoing efforts to stabilize fuel costs and ease the financial burden on the public.
Following these reductions, petrol will now be sold at Rs389.30 per litre, and high-speed diesel is priced at Rs404.97 per litre. These revised rates will come into effect from midnight and will remain applicable until further updates are issued by the authorities.
In a broader context, fuel price adjustments are closely monitored as they directly impact transportation costs, inflation, and overall economic activity. The government’s decision to reduce prices at this juncture is likely aimed at providing some economic respite to consumers and businesses alike.
