In a significant adjustment announced late Monday evening, the federal government revised the prices of petrol and High Speed Diesel (HSD) effective from September 22, 2026. This move comes as part of the routine price review linked to fluctuations in the international oil market.
The price of petrol has been increased by Rs4.61 per litre, pushing the new retail price to Rs393.75 per litre. This rise reflects the recent upward trend in global petrol prices, impacting domestic fuel costs. Conversely, diesel prices have seen a decrease of Rs1.96 per litre, lowering the cost to Rs422.08 per litre. This reduction is attributed to a relative decline in international diesel prices.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued the official notification confirming these changes, emphasizing that the revised rates are directly tied to the current international market rates for petrol and diesel. These adjustments are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to align domestic fuel prices with global energy market dynamics.
The updated fuel prices will come into effect from tonight and remain valid until tomorrow evening. Consumers and businesses alike will need to adjust to these changes as they influence transportation and operational costs across various sectors.
