Chinese electric truck manufacturer Windrose has achieved a significant milestone by completing its inaugural delivery of a long-haul electric heavy truck in the United States. This delivery marks a crucial phase in the company’s ambitious global expansion strategy. The vehicle, which carries a price tag of $285,000, was handed over to Texas-based logistics company Allogic, alongside its charging partner Greenspace, through Windrose’s American collaborator on April 1.

Founded in 2022, Windrose has quickly positioned itself as a formidable competitor to Tesla’s Semi in the electric heavy truck market. The startup has made rapid progress in securing regulatory approvals, having obtained full vehicle certification across multiple regions including Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. The company is also optimistic about receiving certification in Oceania during the latter half of this year, which would further solidify its presence in the global market.

Meanwhile, the delivery to Allogic highlights Windrose’s commitment to establishing a foothold in the US logistics sector, a market that is increasingly embracing sustainable and electric transportation solutions. The collaboration with Greenspace for charging infrastructure underscores the importance of integrated support systems to facilitate the adoption of electric trucks in long-haul operations.

In a significant development for the electric vehicle industry, Windrose’s expansion reflects the growing competition and innovation within the sector, as companies strive to meet rising demand for eco-friendly commercial transportation. The successful US delivery not only demonstrates Windrose’s technological capabilities but also signals a broader shift towards electrification in heavy-duty trucking worldwide.
