Nestlé has confirmed the theft of more than 413,000 KitKat chocolate bars, totaling over twelve tonnes, from a shipment en route from central Italy to Poland. Both the truck and its cargo remain missing, prompting an ongoing investigation by the company and local authorities.

In a statement released on Sunday, Nestlé emphasized that it is collaborating closely with law enforcement and supply chain partners to probe the incident and recover the stolen products. The company reassured consumers that there are no safety concerns related to the theft and that the availability of KitKat bars in stores will not be affected.

The stolen shipment represents a substantial portion of Nestlé’s latest KitKat range, drawing significant attention from investigators. Authorities are reviewing transport documentation, security footage, and logistics details to identify suspects and locate the missing shipment.

Meanwhile, Nestlé stressed that its overall supply chain remains strong, and this isolated event is unlikely to disrupt broader distribution networks. The company also warned the public to be cautious of any attempts to sell stolen KitKat products, which may pose quality and safety risks.

This incident is among the largest reported confectionery thefts in recent years, highlighting vulnerabilities in the security of high-value goods during transit. Nestlé’s prompt response, transparency, and cooperation with authorities aim to maintain consumer confidence while the investigation continues.

Officials and Nestlé representatives are expected to provide further updates as efforts to recover the truck and its cargo progress.
