The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast indicating that Karachi will experience hotter weather conditions beginning Monday. Maximum temperatures in the city are expected to rise, ranging between 36°C and 38°C. This increase marks a shift in the current weather pattern, although the temperatures are anticipated to stay within the normal range for October.
The Met Office explained that changing atmospheric conditions could influence the strength of sea breezes, which play a significant role in moderating Karachi’s coastal climate. These variations in sea breeze intensity may affect the overall weather experienced in the port city during the upcoming days. Presently, Karachi is under partly cloudy skies with southwesterly winds blowing at speeds between 10 and 20 kilometres per hour, contributing to the current weather dynamics.
In addition to the forecast for Karachi, the PMD highlighted that a new westerly weather system is expected to impact the upper and northern regions of the country starting October 12. This system is likely to bring rainfall to various parts of Balochistan, potentially altering weather conditions in those areas. Residents and authorities in the affected regions are advised to stay updated on weather developments as the system approaches.
