Pakistan Clinches Bronze in Hockey and Volleyball at Asian Games

Pakistan earned bronze medals in both hockey and men’s volleyball at the Asian Games by overcoming South Korea and China in their third-place contests. The hockey team triumphed over South Korea with a 5-3 victory in a thrilling match to claim third place.

The game was tied 3-3 entering the final quarter, but Pakistan surged ahead by scoring two additional goals to secure the win. Key contributors included Rana Waheed, who netted two goals, alongside Sufyan Khan, Abdul Rehman, and Hannan Shahid, each adding one goal. Following the victory, the players bowed in prayer and celebrated their achievement. This bronze medal raised Pakistan’s overall medal count at the Asian Games to ten.

In men’s volleyball, Pakistan defeated China in straight sets to capture the bronze medal. The match, held in Nagoya, Japan, ended with scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-18, reflecting Pakistan’s consistent dominance throughout the contest. The team maintained control from the outset of each set, keeping the Chinese side under constant pressure.

Earlier, Pakistan had been defeated by Iran in the semi-finals at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium, losing in straight sets 25-13, 25-15, and 25-11, which prevented them from advancing to the final.

Meanwhile, in the cricket final, India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs to claim the gold medal. India set a target of 212 runs after scoring 211 in their 20 overs. Pakistan managed 192 runs in response, settling for the silver medal in the cricket event.
