PCB Grants NOCs for Foreign Leagues, Warns Against Unauthorized Play

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted no-objection certificates (NOCs) to several players for participation in various international cricket leagues. Spinner Noman Ali has received approval to represent Lancashire County until September 27.

Additionally, Hasan Nawaz, Hunain Shah, Naseem Shah, and Usman Khan have been authorized to compete in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Other players cleared for the CPL include Maaz Sadaqat, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufyan Muqeem, and Shadab Khan.

Specific participation dates have also been confirmed: Muhammad Haris is permitted to play in the CPL from August 7 to September 20, Usman Tariq from August 8 to September 18, and Usama Mir from August 7 to September 21.

The PCB maintains a strict policy that no player may participate in any league without an official NOC. Engaging in leagues without this clearance violates the PCB Players’ Code of Conduct, and the board reserves the right to impose disciplinary measures if necessary.

In a significant development, the PCB recently reiterated its stance following concerns over unauthorized participation in the Asian Legends League in Zambia, an event deemed unauthorized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The board warned that any current or former cricketer playing without a PCB-issued NOC faces a two-year ban. Furthermore, such individuals would be prohibited from holding any position within the PCB or the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during this period.

The PCB emphasized that all Pakistani cricketers, whether active or retired, must secure an NOC before joining any foreign league. This policy underscores the board’s commitment to ICC regulations and its dedication to preserving the integrity of the sport.
