Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, has embarked on an official visit to Saudi Arabia from August 6 to 8. This trip comes at the invitation of the Saudi leadership and aims to strengthen the longstanding ties between the two countries.

Joining the delegation are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other federal ministers. Ishaq Dar will join the group after completing his visit to Jordan, where he participated in the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold talks with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations, expanding strategic cooperation, and exchanging perspectives on regional and international developments.

The Foreign Office highlighted that this visit marks a significant milestone in the deep-rooted Pakistan-Saudi relationship, which is founded on mutual trust, cooperation, and brotherhood. It also gains added importance amid rising tensions in the Gulf region, aiming to reinforce bilateral collaboration, regional coordination, and joint efforts within multilateral forums.
