Info Minister Tarar Highlights Pakistan’s Global Vindication on Pahalgam Issue

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s position regarding the Pahalgam incident, emphasizing the significance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul as a pivotal diplomatic moment.

During a press conference, Tarar highlighted that the prime minister had clearly articulated Pakistan’s stance as early as April 2025, dismissing India’s allegations about the Pahalgam incident as unfounded. He pointed out that Pakistan responded decisively through the National Security Committee and subsequently via the prime minister’s speech, which he described as both historic and a turning point in diplomatic efforts.

Tarar stressed that Pakistan expressed condolences for the victims and called for an impartial investigation, an offer that India reportedly declined. This, he argued, enhanced Pakistan’s international credibility while casting doubt on India’s narrative.

He further underscored Pakistan’s enduring sacrifices in combating terrorism, noting the loss of over 90,000 lives and economic damages exceeding $600 billion. Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s role as a frontline state against terrorism and accused India of engaging in destabilizing activities within the region.

In addition, the minister reaffirmed that water security remains a non-negotiable issue for Pakistan, warning against any attempts to exploit it as a bargaining tool. He assured that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to counter any aggression, emphasizing national unity in defending sovereignty.

Concluding his remarks, Tarar stated that the prime minister’s speech at Kakul will be remembered as a defining moment that solidified Pakistan’s narrative on the global stage, earning international recognition and bolstering the country’s diplomatic standing.
