Private schools in Quetta have been barred from collecting fees for the winter break, following a Balochistan High Court ruling. Authorities have issued strict instructions to make sure schools obey the court’s directive.
Deputy Commissioner West Quetta has issued a formal notification banning private educational institutions from charging holiday fees. Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Durrani has told every private school to follow the order completely.
Penalties and parent complaints in West Quetta
Officials have cautioned that schools still collecting winter fees risk losing their registration and having their buildings sealed. Durrani has asked parents to report any such school to his office or the relevant education department, and said complaints would prompt immediate action against the institutions involved.
How Balochistan sets winter break lengths
The Balochistan Education Department typically divides schools into two groups based on climate: cold zones and warm zones. Winter holidays in cold areas usually start in mid-December and last roughly two and a half months, whereas schools in warm areas generally take a break of about 10 days.
