Tenants who want to change the residential address on their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) need specific paperwork, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has said. The agency has laid out the procedure for citizens living in rented houses.
Documents tenants need at a NADRA registration centre
According to NADRA, applicants can visit a registration centre with a rental agreement, an affidavit from the landlord, or a computerized electricity, gas or water bill issued in the name of the applicant, their parents or their spouse. These supporting documents can be submitted to update the address on the CNIC.
Applicants are advised to confirm they have the relevant documents before going to a NADRA Registration Centre.
Pak ID app approval times and helpline support
NADRA has also advised users of the Pak ID mobile application that requests marked “Ready for Approval” may take up to 48 hours to be approved after the fee has been paid. Applicants should allow enough time for processing once the fee is submitted.
Users whose applications remain pending for more than 48 hours should contact the NADRA helpline. The helpline can be reached at 051-111-786-100, or by calling 1777 from a mobile phone. Applicants may also visit their nearest NADRA office and provide their application details for further guidance.
