The probe into the death of young businessman Mir Raza Ali remains stalled, with authorities yet to achieve any significant breakthrough. Investigators are currently awaiting further clarification and verification of critical aspects within the chemical analysis reports.
In a recent development, the investigation team conducted a late-night visit to the site where Ali’s body was discovered. During this visit, they discharged two test shots to evaluate how far gunfire sounds could be heard in the surrounding residential neighborhoods. Additionally, the team interviewed individuals near a mosque, a nursery, and other nearby locations to ascertain whether gunfire had indeed occurred at the location on July 28.
Mir Raza Ali, an IBA graduate and businessman, was found dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar a day after he went missing on July 28. His father has firmly asserted that his son was murdered, dismissing claims that the death was a suicide.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage from the night of July 28-29 has surfaced, showing a person at some distance from the body’s discovery site around 4:50 a.m. The footage also captures a police vehicle nearby, with a police officer arriving at approximately 5:45 a.m. Notably, the officer remained near the location for about two and a quarter hours. The close proximity of the police vehicle to the scene has sparked questions regarding the circumstances of the incident.
Addressing the media, Ali’s father alleged that Dr. Osama was removed from his role to prevent him from providing crucial information about the case. He further claimed that the post-mortem report was prepared under duress and based solely on photographs. The father also accused the Sindh government of interfering with the investigation.
In a formal statement, Sindh Police confirmed that the investigation team continues to examine medical reports, evidence, and the work conducted by previous investigators. The police spokesperson emphasized that certain points in the reports require additional clarification, and relevant institutions are being contacted to obtain this information. They noted that resolving ambiguities in the chemical analysis could be pivotal for advancing the investigation.
The police reiterated that the inquiry is ongoing, relying on technical, digital, forensic, and other credible evidence available to them.
