Section 144 Enforced in Peshawar, Fireworks and Aerial Firing Banned for Independence Day

In a significant development ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Peshawar authorities have imposed Section 144 across the city. This legal provision prohibits gatherings of more than four people, aiming to prevent any untoward incidents during the national holiday. The move reflects ongoing concerns about public safety and security in the region, especially during large-scale festivities.

Notably, the administration has also banned aerial firing and the use of fireworks throughout the city. These measures are intended to curb noise pollution and reduce the risk of accidents, which have historically marred celebrations in various parts of the country. The ban is expected to help maintain peace and protect citizens from potential harm caused by reckless celebratory practices.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have been directed to enforce these restrictions strictly, ensuring compliance across Peshawar. The imposition of Section 144 and the prohibition of fireworks underscore the authorities’ commitment to a safe and orderly Independence Day. These steps are part of broader efforts nationwide to promote responsible celebrations and safeguard public welfare during significant national events.
