Islamabad Traffic Police issued a warning on Sunday regarding a new online scam targeting residents of the federal capital. The scam involves fake e-challan alerts sent via SMS and WhatsApp, which contain suspicious links.

Authorities cautioned that clicking these links may lead users to counterfeit websites designed to capture personal information, banking credentials, and other sensitive data. The police urged citizens to avoid opening unverified links and to refrain from sharing any personal or financial details through these messages.

In a significant development, the Islamabad Traffic Police emphasized that all e-challan notifications should be verified exclusively through official channels to prevent falling victim to such frauds. They also advised reporting any suspicious or fake e-challan messages immediately to Islamabad Police or the FIA Cyber Crime Wing.

Officials outlined precautionary measures to help the public safeguard themselves against online fraud and cybercrime activities, reinforcing the importance of vigilance in the digital space.
