Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has voiced strong concerns regarding the increasing tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, emphasizing that the defense of the nation’s territorial boundaries is an essential and collective responsibility. His remarks come at a time when security challenges in the region have heightened, prompting provincial authorities to remain alert and proactive.

Describing the current situation as deeply concerning, Afridi pointed out that the provincial government is closely monitoring all developments along the frontier. He stressed that protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty is not just a duty of the military but a national obligation that requires unity and vigilance from all sectors of society. Afridi made it clear that any attempts to undermine border security or provoke unrest will be met with firm resistance.

In a firm denunciation of cross-border hostilities, the chief minister reiterated that Pakistan’s national security stands above all else and is non-negotiable. He highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the provincial administration and federal security agencies to maintain peace and stability in the border regions. This coordination aims to swiftly address any threats and prevent escalation that could jeopardize the safety of local populations.

Afridi also drew attention to the plight of residents living in the border districts, acknowledging the anxiety and uncertainty they face amid these tensions. He assured the public that the government’s foremost priority is to safeguard their lives and property. Concrete measures are being implemented to enhance security infrastructure and provide necessary support to communities vulnerable to cross-border disturbances.

Reaffirming the administration’s unwavering commitment, Afridi promised that the people residing along the frontier will not be abandoned in times of crisis. He directed officials to remain on high alert and be prepared to respond promptly to any emergencies. The chief minister emphasized that a balanced and responsible approach is crucial to preserving peace and preventing further instability in this sensitive region.
