Leaked concept art has offered an early look at a muscular Green Goblin design linked to Insomniac Games’ unannounced Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. The artwork was recently posted on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. It is part of a batch of documents still surfacing more than two years after a major ransomware attack hit the Sony-owned studio in December 2023.
Insomniac has not officially announced the sequel, but lead voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has recently suggested it is already in development.
Muscular Goblin design departs from the comics
The leaked image shows Norman Osborn’s villain with a far bulkier build than usual. Unlike the huge, mutated form from the Ultimate Marvel comics, this version keeps his classic green skin, a black tactical suit and a touch of purple inside his cape.
Osborn has long been a central figure in the Insomniac games, where he serves as the powerful CEO of Oscorp Industries. Earlier storylines have strongly hinted that he is close to losing control, which could set up a showdown with Peter Parker, Miles Morales and possibly a third playable Spider-Man.
Fan reaction and uncertainty around the leak
Most gamers responded positively to the early 2023 concept art. Many fans were glad the developers avoided another giant monster design, since fighting Venom in the last game already covered that idea.
Some players joked about the new look, while others guessed he might gradually turn into a more demonic version. Because the sequel has not been announced, the art may not reflect the final in-game character. Still, the leak has renewed excitement online, and players are waiting for an official reveal from Insomniac Games.
